Dr. Damany Fisher

 Dr. Fisher comes to the Advocacy Chiefs team with 10+ years of experience in higher education and workforce development. A dedicated educator, Damany has built a career working to serve students in secondary and higher education settings. Damany specializes in helping people access training and resources to develop skills and competencies that lead to meaningful, family-sustaining careers. While serving as Regional Director of SpecialProjects for the Bay Area Community College Consortium, Damany helped create career pathways for students by aligning the needs of employers with the programs and curricula of colleges to ensure that students access the knowledge, skills, and abilities, to meet industry’s workforce development needs. His accomplishments include,among others, organizing a coalition of community colleges–College of Marin, Foothill College, Cañada College–and Bay Area employers to establish a pre-apprenticeship/ apprenticeship in virtual/extended reality, partnering with the Cañada College Engineering faculty to establish the Photonics and Laser Technology (PALT) Certificate of Achievement at Cañada College at Menlo Park while working with industry partners to create work-based learning opportunities for students, and creating a cross-sector partnership between JobTrain, a nonprofit training provider, San Mateo Adult and Career Education, and Cañada College at Menlo Park to create seamless pathways between programs. Most recently, Dr. Fisher served as Management Consulting Manager for Accenture.
